(Video) Cornered, Bolsonaro now claims that Brazil was a 'body with cancer everywhere'
"I inherited a body with cancer everywhere. A doctor can't solve all these problems overnight," Jair Bolsonaro told supporters in front of the Alvorada Palace in Brasília on Monday (8).
247 - Jair Bolsonaro (without party affiliation) continued his attempt to explain the failure of his administration and his popularity, stating this Monday (8) that Brazil was a "body with cancer" when he took over the Planalto Palace in January 2019.
"You understand how I took over this country. You are right in what you are demanding and what you are saying. Now, I inherited a body with cancer everywhere. A doctor cannot, overnight, solve all these problems," he told supporters in front of the Alvorada Palace in Brasília.
According to Bolsonaro, "if Brazil had remained in the hands of those who were in it, it would have already collapsed."
"The big problem right now is what you're seeing here. You saw a bit of it on the street yesterday. They're starting to show their true colors. There's a lot of interest from inside Brazil and from abroad. Rest assured that I won't give up," he said.
Bolsonaro dodged the question about the protests against him this weekend. "No comment," he stated. "Now, 30 years of indoctrination in Brazil. Increasingly creating militants. And there are people who do this, not even out of malice, it's in their heads."
On his Twitter account, he had also criticized the image of an upside-down doll of him, used as a symbol of his downfall in the demonstrations this Sunday (7).
