Temer uses state-owned companies to consolidate support.

In an interview, the interim minister says he will return Furnas to the PMDB party in Minas Gerais and claims the company is worth more than the Ministry of Tourism; "it could be more politically significant than Tourism," he said; he also signaled a slight betrayal of former allies, including Eduardo Cunha, by saying he will "dehydrate this Centrão thing and other groups. It's necessary to unify this. I want it all to be the government," he stated, referring to the former opposition, composed of PSDB, DEM, PPS, and PSB; regarding Cunha's impeachment process, he said that "all that remains for him is to fight it in the plenary."

247 - Interim President Michel Temer said in an interview with 'Estado de S. Paulo' that he will return Furnas to the PMDB party in Minas Gerais and claims that the company is worth more than the Ministry of Tourism. "It could be more politically significant than the Ministry of Tourism," he said.

He also signaled a slight betrayal of former allies, including Eduardo Cunha, by saying he will end the Centrão (center-right bloc). “When August arrives, there will be no scar. I want to dehydrate this Centrão thing and this other group. It's necessary to unify this. I want it all to be the government,” he stated, referring to the former opposition, composed of PSDB, DEM, PPS, and PSB.

Regarding the impeachment process against Cunha, he said that "all that remains for him is to fight it in the plenary session."

He also downplayed the risks of Operation Lava Jato, which has been getting closer to politicians in his inner circle: “The President of the Republic is, and I think the government is too (immune to the impact of Lava Jato); Every now and then one or another speaks on my behalf, but it's so irrelevant that, if you'll allow me the expression, it doesn't 'stick', does it?”
