247 - With the added responsibility of being both the vice-president and the government's political coordinator, Michel Temer is considering taking a leave of absence from the national presidency of the PMDB party to avoid potential conflicts with other parties in the allied base.

Temer consulted with members of the PMDB party throughout the day about the idea. The most likely candidate to assume the position is Senator Romero Jucá (RR), who, during last year's election campaign, declared his support for Dilma's opponent, Aécio Neves of the PSDB party.

He is the party's third vice-president. The first, Senator Valdir Raupp, is reportedly unwilling to assume leadership of the party again. The second vice-president is Representative Isís Araújo (GO).

Jucá met briefly with Temer this Wednesday (8). Asked at the end of the meeting if he would assume the presidency of the PMDB, Jucá equivocated. He did not deny but also did not want to confirm the possibility.
