247 - The Supreme Federal Court (STF) granted an injunction granting house arrest to former minister Geddel Vieira Lima. The decision was made late Tuesday night (14), by Minister Dias Toffoli. information It's from the newspaper O Globo.

The defense of the former minister requested the granting of house arrest due to the new coronavirus pandemic. In his decision, Dias Toffoli argues that Geddel's defense proved its allegations with a document issued by the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration and Resocialization of the State of Bahia (Seap), which certifies that the former minister, when taking a rapid test on July 8, tested positive for Covid-19.

Geddel has been imprisoned since 2017, when on September 5 of that year, the Federal Police found R$ 51 million, distributed in nine suitcases, in an apartment linked to the former minister in Salvador.

Geddel was Minister of the Government Secretariat during Michel Temer's term, and Minister of National Integration in Lula's government, between 2007 and 2010.
