Brazil's Supreme Court dismisses case regarding R$ 500,000 in undeclared campaign contributions belonging to the coup's foreign minister, Aloysio Nunes.

In the coup 'with the Supreme Court, with everything,' in which President Dilma Rousseff was removed without a crime and former President Lula has been kept as a political prisoner to prevent him from running in the presidential elections, which he would easily win, the senior Justice Celso de Mello has just dismissed the case in which the coup's foreign minister, Aloysio Nunes, was accused of receiving R$ 500 off the books from UTC Engenharia.

By André Richter, reporter for Agência Brasil - Supreme Federal Court (STF) minister Celso de Mello dismissed on Monday (11) an inquiry opened to investigate the alleged unaccounted electoral donation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aloysio Nunes, in 2010.

The investigation is related to the plea bargain testimony of former UTC construction company executive Ricardo Pessoa. According to the informant, he allegedly arranged a donation of R$ 500 to Aloysio Nunes' Senate campaign in 2010. Aloysio is currently on leave from his mandate to serve as a minister.

Celso de Mello granted a request from the Attorney General of the Republic, Raquel Dodge, two weeks ago. According to the Court's jurisprudence, the rapporteur must dismiss the investigation when the request is made by the Attorney General's Office.

In requesting the case be dismissed, Raquel Dodge stated that the informants did not present evidence to corroborate their testimonies and there is insufficient data to support the criminal proceedings.

"The police authority, in its final report, acknowledges that the statements contained in Ricardo Ribeiro Pessoa's collaboration agreement, specifically regarding the alleged cash donation to Aloysio Nunes Ferreira's 2010 campaign, were not corroborated by other sufficient evidence to prove the materiality and authorship of the investigated offenses, and therefore, there are no grounds to initiate criminal proceedings," Dodge argued.
