Renan: "The chance of me having met with Youssef is zero"
The president of the Senate, Renan Calheiros (PMDB-AL), denied this Monday (9) having held meetings with the money launderer Alberto Youssef, arrested in the Federal Police's Lava Jato Operation; Renan said that he does not know "any of these" involved in the Petrobras corruption scheme; "Honestly, the chance that I could have had a meeting with these people is zero. "Honestly, the chance that I could have met these people is zero. Absolutely zero. No chance at all," he stated.
The name of the PMDB politician appears on the alleged list of politicians involved in the corruption scheme at Petrobras, but Renan denies any involvement in the scheme to divert funds from the state-owned company.
Renan said he doesn't know who Youssef is and has "never heard of him," except from the newspapers. "I don't even know who he is. I don't know any of them," the senator said.
