Remember one of Lula's most emblematic speeches.

On March 4, 2016, exactly three years ago, Lula was forcibly taken to a Federal Police headquarters in São Paulo for questioning, in an episode that popularized the legal term "coercive detention." The case demonstrated the full extent of the political persecution of the former president by Sérgio Moro, now Minister of Justice. The date was also marked by one of Lula's most emblematic speeches.

The national president of the PT (Workers' Party), congresswoman Gleisi Hoffmann (PR), and the PT leader in the Chamber of Deputies, congressman Paulo Pimenta (RS), used their social media to commemorate the three-year anniversary of Lula's "kidnapping," under the guise of coercive detention. Pimenta states that this was the first of many "absurd and criminal illegalities" committed by Sérgio Moro against the former president, who is now a political prisoner of the Lava Jato scheme. Gleisi emphasizes that they raided Lula's house, his children's homes, and the Lula Institute. "They wanted to find money, gold, jewels... they didn't find any."
