Regarding the article published on the 247 website today, entitled "Randolfe Accused of Promoting Himself with Public Funds," we would like to clarify the following:

My image is on the cover of the Maracatu da Favela Samba School's CD by a decision made by the school itself. Since I am not a member of the board of directors of this organization, I have no decision-making power and therefore bear no responsibility for the CD and its content.
- The Maracatu da Favela Samba School was the champion of the 2012 Carnival and, therefore, deserved to be on the cover of the CD released by the League of Samba Schools of Amapá (Liesa) last year.
I am not a member of Liesa or any forum or space that has decision-making power regarding the advertising content of the carnival in Macapá. I reiterate, therefore, that the choice of images placed on the CD cover is not my responsibility.

Best Regards,
Randolfe Rodrigues, senator (PSOL-AP)
