247 - The Workers' Party (PT) announced it will file requests to remove Congressman Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) from office after he called Minister Gleisi Hoffmann (Chief of Staff) a "GP" (prostitute) in social media posts. The party will contact the Chamber of Deputies' Ethics Committee and the Attorney General's Office to investigate the case, according to the report. UOLThe PT leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), reacted harshly to the insults, calling Gayer a "scoundrel" and "scum," and recalled an accident that occurred when the congressman was 19 years old, in which he ran over and killed a person while driving drunk.

Gayer denied the accusations of sexism and tried to justify his statements, claiming he was defending Gleisi from a comment made by President Lula. In posts on X (formerly Twitter), the congressman called Lula a "pimp" and suggested that he was "offering" the minister in political negotiations. Gayer's statements generated outrage, especially for reinforcing sexist and disrespectful stereotypes.

The controversy began after Lula made a comment about Gleisi, referring to her as a "beautiful woman" during a negotiation with Congress. The statement was criticized for highlighting the minister's physical appearance instead of her professional skills. Gleisi, however, downplayed the episode and defended the president. Gayer took advantage of the situation to attack Lula, but ended up reproducing offensive and misogynistic speeches.

Faced with the crisis, the leader of the PL party in the Chamber of Deputies, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ), stated that he will seek to appease the situation, advocating "calm and restraint." Meanwhile, the PT party maintains pressure for Gayer's expulsion, reinforcing that sexist statements and offenses cannot be tolerated in the political environment. The case reignites the debate about respect for women in the public sphere and exposes tensions between the parties.
