PT and PDT want to break Marconi's confidentiality agreements.

Deputies Paulo Teixeira (PT-SP) and Miro Teixeira (PDT-RJ) say they are dissatisfied with the clarifications provided by the governor of Goiás and confirm their request to break the banking, tax, and telephone secrecy of Marconi Perillo; "while he was speaking, new evidence was arriving at the commission," said Miro Teixeira.

247 - In the first four hours of his testimony, the governor of Goiás, Marconi Perillo, appeared calm and attempted to answer all the questions presented to him. However, his statements did not convince parliamentarians who are part of the CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) investigating the Cachoeira case. This was the case, for example, with Miro Teixeira (PDT-RJ) and Paulo Teixeira (PT-SP).

“The testimony is a chance for defense,” said Miro Teixeira. “But we are looking for technical evidence.” According to the congressman, while Marconi Perillo was speaking, new evidence related to the house issue arrived at the committee, such as checks from the company Excitant – a clothing manufacturer that received funds from Delta – and paid for the house for R$ 1,4 million.

According to Congressman Paulo Teixeira, leader of the PT (Workers' Party) in the Senate, there is a very large number of people linked to the illegal gambling operator Carlos Cachoeira in the government of Goiás. "This quantity of evidence reinforces the quality of the proof," he said. Teixeira also stated that it is astonishing that the governor of Goiás claims not to know that Perillo continued to be involved in crime. "This government lacked an intelligence unit."

Paulo Teixeira and Miro Teixeira confirmed that they will submit requests for the lifting of tax, banking, and telephone secrecy for Marconi Perillo. "The investigation will have to continue after the deposition," said Paulo Teixeira. Deputy Fernando Francischini (PSDB-PR) said he sees no problem with the measure, since Marconi Perillo himself offered to lift his banking secrecy. "A commendable measure that should be followed by everyone," said Francischini.
