Juan's killers arrested.
The four military police officers involved in the death of the boy Juan were arrested this afternoon in Rio de Janeiro.
The four military police officers suspected of involvement in the murder of 11-year-old Juan de Moraes were arrested this afternoon. According to the press office of the Military Police (PM) of Rio de Janeiro, they were taken to the Special Prison Battalion (BEP) in Benfica, in the northern part of the city. The temporary arrest warrants were executed by the PM's Internal Affairs Department.
The Homicide Division of Baixada Fluminense concluded that on June 20th, Juan was executed by Sergeants Isaías Souza do Carmo and Ubirani Soares and Corporals Edilberto Barros do Nascimento and Rubens da Silva in a staged operation, in which there was no exchange of gunfire with criminals, in the Danon Favela, in Nova Iguaçu. Last Tuesday, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio de Janeiro (MP-RJ) had requested the temporary arrest of the military police officers for two counts of aggravated homicide, two counts of attempted homicide, and concealment of a corpse.
