The President of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), who granted house arrest to Queiroz, denies the same right to other prisoners in the Covid-19 risk group.
Minister João Otávio de Noronha denied a request from the Collective of Advocacy in Human Rights, which claimed the right of prisoners in the Covid-19 risk group to be sent to house arrest, as was done with Fabrício Queiroz.
247 - The president of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), Minister João Otávio de Noronha, denied this Thursday (23) a request for house arrest for prisoners who are part of the Covid-19 risk group.
The action by the Collective of Human Rights Advocacy was based on Noronha's decision to send [the victim] to... Former aide to Flávio Bolsonaro, Fabrício Queiroz, placed under house arrest., who is serving his sentence at home precisely because he is part of the Covid-19 risk group. Therefore, the request sought to extend Queiroz's benefit to other prisoners in the prison system.
João Otávio de Noronha considered the request generic, since it does not address the unique situation of each prisoner. The full text of the decision, however, was not released.
