PMDB negotiates with the opposition for control of the BNDES CPI.
The commission was created this Friday, after the Speaker of the House, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB), announced his break with the Dilma Rousseff government; the party is negotiating with the opposition for the presidency or the rapporteurship of the CPI; the PSDB has already nominated two members - deputies Betinho Gomes (PE) and Miguel Haddad (SP), and may nominate four more members.
247 – The PMDB is negotiating with the opposition for the presidency or the rapporteurship of the BNDES CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry). The commission was created this Friday, after the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB), announced the break with the Dilma Rousseff government. The CPI targets loans made by the bank since the Lula administration.
The PSDB has already nominated two members - Representatives Betinho Gomes (PE) and Miguel Haddad (SP), and may nominate four more members.
Despite the recess, the PMDB leader, Deputy Leonardo Picciani (RJ), is expected to discuss the matter with Cunha. In addition to the BNDES, he authorized the creation of a commission to investigate irregularities involving pension funds, aimed at targeting the government.
