PL completes payment of R$ 22,9 million fine and Moraes unfreezes the party's account.

The R$ 2.585.254,22 held in the party's account have been released.

247 - Minister Alexandre de Moraes, president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), determined this Friday (17) the unblocking of the PL's accounts after recognizing the payment of the R$ 22,9 million fine applied to the party for bad faith litigation, reports the Metropolis

On Tuesday (14), another R$ 9.858.370,60 was transferred to the Caixa Econômica Federal judicial account linked to the process, thus totaling the full amount of the fine imposed by the TSE, the website adds. 

The R$ 2.585.254,22 held in the party's account were then released. 

The conviction relates to the fact that the party of Valdemar Costa Neto and Jair Bolsonaro challenged in court the victory of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in last year's elections, arguing alleged flaws in the individualization of the LOGs of the electronic voting machines manufactured before 2020 and used in the voting.
