Pimenta denies that PT is discussing a coalition to support Jovair.
A federal deputy says that the information circulating in the press claiming that the PT leader in the Chamber, Carlos Zarattini (SP), has been orchestrating a bloc with PCdoB and PDT to support the candidacy of Jovair Arantes (PTB-GO), rapporteur of Dilma's impeachment process, is false; Paulo Pimenta (PT-RS) emphasizes that the PT unanimously approved this afternoon its support for the PDT candidate, André Figueiredo (CE).
247 - Federal deputy Paulo Pimenta (PT-RS) denied the information that has been circulating in press reports that the leader of the PT caucus in the Chamber of Deputies, deputy Carlos Zarattini (SP), has been orchestrating a bloc with PCdoB and PDT to support the candidacy of Jovair Arantes (PTB-GO) for president of the Chamber of Deputies.
"False. Totally false. It has already been denied," Pimenta declared to 247. Jovair Arantes was the rapporteur for Dilma Rousseff's impeachment process. The party's activists and a large part of the PT had been working to ensure that the party did not support a candidate who voted in favor of the coup in the congressional elections, which are taking place this week.
Pimenta highlighted that, in a meeting on the afternoon of Tuesday the 31st, the PT caucus unanimously approved support for the PDT candidate, André Figueiredo (CE), and stated that PSOL and Rede are discussing the possibility of being in the bloc. In that case, the PT would be outside the Board, occupying, according to the rule of proportionality, an alternate position.
