Brazilian Federal Police will investigate allegations against the Minister of Sport.

According to the Minister of Justice, José Eduardo Cardoso: "there is a clear intention on the part of the minister (Orlando Silva) in an investigation"

The Ministry of Justice will instruct the Federal Police to open an investigation into allegations of bribery within the Ministry of Sports. According to the Minister of Justice, José Eduardo Cardozo, the decision was made following a request from the Minister of Sports, Orlando Silva, who was cited as a beneficiary of a corruption scheme by military police officer João Dias in Veja magazine. Cardozo emphasized that Orlando Silva has agreed to open his telephone and bank records to cooperate with the investigation.

“Obviously, this gesture helps us insofar as there is a clear intention from the minister to conduct an investigation, which will be carried out rigorously and thoroughly by the Federal Police agencies responsible for the case,” stated Cardozo. The Minister of Justice added that the military police officer who made the complaint will be questioned by the Federal Police.
