Patrus defends Lula and demands changes in the PT (Workers' Party).
After meeting with rural social movements, the Minister of Agrarian Development, Patrus Ananias, compared the party's situation to the encyclical released last week by Pope Francis on the renewal of the Church; he referred to Lula's recent statements that PT members today "only think about positions, jobs, and being elected": 'Jesus of Nazareth, who knew very well about these things, drew attention to this. The two great human temptations are money, economic power, and also political power when he said: "whoever wants to be the greatest must be the least and the servant of all."'

He also commented on Lula's recent statements that PT members today "only think about positions, jobs, and getting elected": 'Jesus of Nazareth, who knew very well about these things, drew attention to this. The two great human temptations are money, economic power, and also political power when he said: "whoever wants to be the greatest must be the least and the servant of all." An institution as old as the Church, since we are talking about Jesus, two thousand years old, a man like Pope Francis is giving new life and new horizons to this institution,' he added.
