247 - Interim President Michel Temer plans to make a statement to the press later today (Monday, 6) to address issues considered by the government, such as the dismissal of ministers due to accusations or mentions in Operation Lava Jato. The objective would be to interrupt the continuous cycle that affects the top echelon and which has already led to the departure of Romero Jucá and Fabiano Silveira from the Planning and Transparency ministries, respectively. This Monday (6) an editorial in The New York Times questioned the Temer government's commitment to effectively combating corruption.

Currently, one of the ministers who most worries the Temer government is Henrique Eduardo Alves, from the Ministry of Tourism, who is under investigation. Alves is a personal friend of Temer and, at least for now, is expected to remain in his position.

Another sensitive point is that of the Attorney General of the Union, Fábio Medina Osório, who has been harshly criticized for his performance in the less than 30 days he has been in office. The nomination of Fátima Pelas for the Secretariat of Policies for Women (SPM) is also another point of contention that is being closely monitored. In addition to her positions against feminist causes, such as abortion, she is being investigated on suspicion of having received R$ 4 million in funds originating from parliamentary amendments she authored when she was a congresswoman. The funds should have been used to promote tourism initiatives, but are alleged to have been diverted to election campaigns. She is being investigated by the Federal Police's Operation Vaucher.

According to sources, Temer has already warned government members who are facing legal proceedings or are under investigation that they should resign from their positions to avoid embarrassment for the government. Currently, 15 of the 24 ministers in the interim government are under investigation or have been mentioned in plea bargain testimonies related to Operation Lava Jato.
