According to a report by CNNPresident Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has received signals that there will be no difficulties in approving Zanin's name should he be nominated to the Supreme Federal Court (STF).

According to the report, names like that of David Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), president of the Senate's Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ), have already expressed their support. The senator reportedly indicated that he has no objection to Zanin's nomination and that he could expedite the scheduling of the hearing.

Even senators from parties like PP and PSDB don't foresee any difficulties in getting it approved.

"Despite Zanin being the favorite, government aides have argued that Lula should take into account Lewandowski's opinion, who, according to reports to CNN, would prefer the name of the Bahian jurist Manoel Carlos de Almeida Neto, former secretary-general of the STF," the report highlights.
