247 Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva recorded a video for the Brazilian Society of Speech-Language Pathology to celebrate World Voice Day, celebrated this Monday, the 16th. Watch it here. video here

Right at the beginning of the film, Lula states: “Ever since I received the diagnosis of laryngeal cancer, I was very afraid of losing my voice.” He also speaks of the importance that speech therapists had in his treatment and says that he could not have imagined the benefits that this type of work would bring to his health. “I am a witness to the value of voice rehabilitation in the treatment of laryngeal cancer.”

Lula's voice is still hoarse due to the effects of chemotherapy, and he continues to do speech therapy exercises every day to minimize the damage. In the video, the former president also stated that he hopes "that all the people who have had the problem I had can have the treatment I am having, because everyone deserves the best this country has to offer."

Last week, Lula made her first public appearance. After undergoing cancer treatment, the former president proved that his charisma remains strong and promised to help the Workers' Party (PT).
