“The defendant’s conduct, insisting on disregarding the precautionary measures imposed in these proceedings and endorsed by the plenary of the Supreme Federal Court, reveals his complete contempt for the Judiciary, a behavior verified on several occasions and which justifies the imposition of a fine,” Moraes wrote in the new decision.

In total, including the new penalty, Silveira has now accumulated five fines totaling R$ 4,3 million, equivalent to 127 times his gross salary as a federal deputy.
