Marina Silva refuses to support Soninha in São Paulo.
The former senator, who has been without a party since last year, stated that she does not have a major candidate in the capital; the candidate said she already expected not to receive her support.
247 – Former senator Marina Silva, who has been without a party since last year, stated this Thursday that she will not participate in the São Paulo mayoral election, where she received 20% of the vote in the presidential election when she ran for the Green Party (PV). Marina received a request for support from candidate Soninha, of the PPS party, but declined the invitation.
According to a report in Folha de S.Paulo, Soninha even presented the former presidential candidate with a bouquet made of recyclable material, which, according to the candidate, was a "symbol of a marriage proposal." The candidate from São Paulo justified her appeal by saying that she was quite similar to Marina. "If you research my life, you'll see that we have a lot in common," she said.
Pessimistic, Soninha had already said, however, that she was "almost certain" that her request would not be granted. "Well, she said that I'm not going to support anyone. So she's already solved the problem for me," Marina Silva replied.
The candidate even brought some of Marina's supporters to the PPS, but since the former senator left the PV, she has stated that she would not support her. "She knows that I don't have a major candidate here in São Paulo." In the capital, Marina only confirmed that she would support a candidacy for "honorary mayor" of businessman Oded Grajew, coordinator of the Nossa São Paulo Network.
