247 - Criticized for being in The Brazilian presidential delegation that attended Queen Elizabeth's funeral in London.Despite not holding a government position or being on an official mission, the evangelical businessman Silas Malafaia justified his presence at the event by claiming he was replacing federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL), who allegedly 'declined' the opportunity. This information comes from... Monica Bergamo's column from Folha de S. Paulo.
Jair Bolsonaro (PL) could have brought three people in total to the ceremony, one of them being the First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro, and the other two being a diplomat and a guest. With the alleged refusal of Eduardo, the son of the head of the Brazilian Executive, Malafaia was chosen: "The president was then consulted and said: 'Is there another vacancy? Then put Malafaia in.' It was the president who chose," said the evangelical businessman, whom Bolsonaro calls his 'advisor'.
Regarding the reason, the pastor dodged the question: "I confess I didn't ask. But there was a priest here too (Father Paulo Antônio de Araújo). Funerals are about eternity. I think that's why the president brought us. The religious ceremony of the Anglican Church is crazy," he stated.
