247 - President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will begin assembling his direct advisory team next week, known as the "kitchen" of the Planalto Palace, which will work in offices close to his. Although Lula has already told interlocutors that he will only announce the so-called "hard core" of his government on December 10th, allies of the PT member are already making their bets and speculations about the names that will make up the group.

According to Folha de S. PaulPolitical scientist Marco Aurélio Santana Ribeiro heads the list to be Lula's chief of staff. The name of the governor of Bahia, Rui Costa (PT), is also at the top of the list for the head of the Civil House, should the president-elect opt for a more managerial profile. Former governor Jaques Wagner (PT) and the national president of the PT, federal deputy Gleisi Hoffmann (PR), could occupy the position "if the choice leans towards a political role."

According to the report, "for the General Secretariat of the Presidency, a position dedicated to liaising with civil society, one of the candidates is lawyer Marco Aurélio de Carvalho. He is the coordinator of the Prerogatives Group, which promoted meetings and worked in organizing movements in defense of democracy during the campaign."

Federal deputy José Guimarães (CE), coordinator of the PT campaign in Ceará, is also being considered for the role of coordinator or leader of the future government in the Chamber of Deputies. State deputy Emídio de Souza (PT-SP) is also being considered for the position.

Federal deputy Alexandre Padilha (PT-SP) is being considered for the position of head of the Ministry of Institutional Relations, responsible for political coordination. For the Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency (Secom), the mayor of Araraquara, Edinho Silva (PT), is the most frequently mentioned candidate. "Although he repeatedly tells interlocutors that he would prefer not to take the position, members of the Workers' Party believe he would not refuse an invitation from Lula," the report emphasizes.

Former Foreign Minister Celso Amorim “is expected to assume the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs, which will regain ministerial status in Lula's administration. Márcio Macedo, treasurer of Lula's campaign, may also assume a role in this core government, should he not succeed Gleisi as president of the PT,” the newspaper concludes.
