Lula says that, if elected, he will "deal with the Centrão" and change the secret budget.
"If we win, we'll have to deal with the Centrão [a political bloc in Brazil], we'll have to tamper with the secret budget," he stressed.
247 - During a campaign event this Sunday (18), in Florianópolis, presidential candidate Lula (PT) stated that, if elected, he will have to "deal with the Centrão" and change the so-called secret budget, an instrument that was used by Jair Bolsonaro to prevent the advancement of impeachment requests and approve government measures, in addition to being a campaign tool.
At a rally in Tancredo Neves Square, in downtown Florianópolis, accompanied by allies and supporters, such as the vice-presidential candidate, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), Lula reinforced the need to elect allied candidates to ensure governability and the advancement of agendas that benefit the population.
"If we win, we'll have to deal with the Centrão [a political bloc in Brazil], we'll have to tinker with the secret budget, we'll have to comply with the minimum wage for nurses, and improve the minimum wage for teachers," he stressed.
Lula rejected Bolsonaro's rhetoric, in which he calls himself patriotic and anti-establishment when attacking what he calls "old politics." Bolsonaro says that his "party is Brazil."
"Normally, a fascist who doesn't belong to a political party, who has never organized a political party, who doesn't like the people, who doesn't respect anyone, says the following: 'My party is Brazil.' And I wanted to tell him that Brazil is not a party, it is our country," Lula stated.
"This flag here is not the flag of a political party. It is the flag of 215 million Brazilians who love this country," he added.
