By Roberta Ferpin, Power Agenda - President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has decided that a woman will head the Ministry of Sports. The most likely candidate is former volleyball player Ana Moser.

Another former volleyball player, Senator Leila Barros, from the PDT party, is also mentioned. Another name being considered is that of former basketball player Marta, who is affiliated with the Workers' Party.

The information is from Julia Duailibi, in G1.

The three women were part of the Sports Working Group in the transition team.If Leila is chosen, Lula will have already filled the PDT's quota. The party of Ciro Gomes and Carlos Lupi hopes to gain a ministry in exchange for supporting Lula in the second round.

The mayor of Araraquara (SP), Edinho Silva, who coordinated the Sports Working Group, is not expected to be nominated because Lula wants to increase female participation in the future cabinet.

There was an expectation that the Ministry of Sports would be filled by a PCdoB member, as occurred in previous PT administrations. The communists, however, are expected to hold another position.

Lula decided to recreate the Ministry of Sports, a position he held during his presidential terms.

Under Jair Bolsonaro's government, the structure of the former ministry is housed within the Ministry of Citizenship.
