In a private meeting with business leaders last month in Lisbon, Portugal, the president said he was not worried about possible negative repercussions from his choice.
Lula wants to have a definitive conversation this week with former Minister Lewandowski about the matter. The former judge supports the nomination of lawyer Manoel Carlos de Almeida Neto, who worked at the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). However, the president knows that Lewandowski will not oppose Zanin's nomination and wants to know if the former minister could make a gesture of support for his choice.
