Lula: We still have six days of hard work before our inauguration.
With less than a week to go before Lula's inauguration, a discussion about the event's security has arisen in Brasília. A man has been arrested for planning a terrorist attack.
247 - President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) used Twitter on Monday (26) to begin the countdown to the last week until his inauguration as - once again - President of the Republic.
"Good morning. We've reached the last week of the year and today I'm returning to Brasília. We still have 6 days of hard work before our inauguration and the start of our government. A new chapter for Brazil, with more democracy and rights for the Brazilian people. Have a good week everyone," Lula posted.
The final week under Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) government, marking the eve of Lula's inauguration, is marked by tension, ever since in BrasIn Brasília, a man was arrested who, inspired by Bolsonaro's words, was planning an attack. A large-scale terrorist attack occurred at the airport in the federal capital.
In light of this episode, the future Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino (PSB), stated that the Security procedures for Lula's inauguration ceremony will be reviewed.Furthermore, a discussion arose about whether or not to change the format of the inauguration, avoiding Lula's parade in an open car, for example, and reducing the event to closed venues where there could be greater control from a security standpoint.
