247 - Former President Lula, in an interview given this Thursday (14) to Rádio Tiradentes, in Amazonas, condemns the irresponsible way Jair Bolsonaro is facing the pandemic and considers that he “treats the country as if it were his own home”. The former president also emphasizes that the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ) “needed to take one of the dozens of impeachment requests and put it to a vote immediately”.
Maia said this Wednesday (13) Maia responded to a request from lawyers and the senior member of the Supreme Court, Minister Celso de Mello, who demanded explanations on the matter, stating that the Supreme Court has no deadline to analyze the impeachment request against Bolsonaro.
Lula also analyzes the serious health crisis facing the Northern region. “Manaus today is an example of the severity that the coronavirus can reach in Brazil. There are almost 100 doctors and nurses in the city waiting to work, and their appointments haven't been published in the Official Gazette of the Union. Of the 20 cities with the highest mortality rates in the country, 13 are in Amazonas.”
In the former president's view, some actions by the Executive branch could contribute to the fight against Covid-19. "Ford, for example, here in São Bernardo, could be producing ventilators. But the company isn't receiving any support from the federal government to implement this."
