Lira formalizes working group to discuss tax reform.

247 - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), officially announced on Wednesday (15) the creation of a working group to discuss tax reform. The act of the Board of Directors also confirms the name of the PT member Reginaldo Lopes (MG) as coordinator of the collegiate body, reports the Metropolis.

Lopes and a group of 11 representatives will have up to 90 days to complete their work. This deadline may be extended by an additional three months if the representatives deem it necessary.

In addition to the coordinator, the working group includes representatives Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB), who will be the rapporteur of the tax reform; Saullo Vianna (União-AM); Mauro Benevides (PDT-CE); Glaustin da Fokus (PSC-GO); Newton Cardoso (MDB-MG); Ivan Valente (PSol-SP); Jonas Donizette (PSB-SP); Sidney Leite (PSD-AM); Luiz Phillippe de Orleans e Bragança (PL-SP); Vítor Lippi (PSDB-SP); and Adail Filho (Republicanos-AM).

Tax reform is considered a priority by the president of the Legislative House and by the allied base of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's (PT) government in the National Congress.
