A court order overturns the appointment of Moreira Franco.
A preliminary injunction granted by Judge Eduardo Rocha Penteado, in a class action lawsuit filed by students from the University of Brasília, has just suspended the appointment of Moreira Franco as minister in Michel Temer's government. Moreira Franco, responsible for the privatization program, was appointed to gain privileged jurisdiction and escape the Lava Jato investigation. A close friend of Temer, Moreira was denounced by Odebrecht for allegedly receiving bribes in airport concessions; he is also under investigation in Operation Cui Bono, which investigates fraud in loans from Caixa Econômica Federal.
