Leonardo Boff: Bolsonaro should do as Fujimori did, who left to avoid handing over the presidential sash and only returned to be arrested.

The writer's stance is a response to the possibility, raised by Bolsonaro, of leaving the country to avoid handing over the presidential sash to Lula, alleging an "unfair electoral contest."

247 - Theologian and writer Leonardo Boff used his Twitter account, this Friday (4), to suggest a 'destiny' for Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at the end of his term when the president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva takes power.

The writer suggests that Bolsonaro, like former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori, who fled to avoid handing over the presidential sash to the elected leftist candidate Pedro Castillo, may suffer the same fate: returning only to be arrested for his crimes.

"May Bolsonaro do as Fujimori did: he left without handing over the presidential sash and never returned. He only came back to be arrested. May this happen to someone who committed so many crimes against the Brazilian people, especially the relatives of the 300 he let die," he tweeted.

Boff's statement is a response to a tweet by Senator Humberto Costa (PT), who published a report warning that Bolsonaro plans to leave the country so as not to hand over the presidential sash to Lula. under the allegation that "he did not participate in a fair electoral contest".
