JB enters the election debate with "suggestions"

In his first public statement referencing presidential candidates, former Supreme Court Chief Justice Joaquim Barbosa used his Twitter account to complain about cell phone rates: “A concrete suggestion for presidential candidates: promise Brazilians a drastic reduction in phone rates, for example”; he cited the flat rate practiced in European countries and the USA as an example; finally, he made another appeal: “My dream: to have leaders who understand the profound effect that widespread, quality education has on a country's development!”

247 – Until now detached from the electoral scene, former president of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Joaquim Barbosa “reappears” on Twitter with suggestions for the candidates for President of the Republic:

"A concrete suggestion for presidential candidates: promise Brazilians a drastic reduction in telephone rates, for example," he posted.
According to Barbosa, the US, Argentina, and the European Union have a single, national tariff for cell phones. "No long-distance calls! Why not here? It's a scam!" he added.

Finally, he made a plea for education in Brazil: "My dream: to have leaders who understand the profound effect that widespread, quality education has on a country's development!"
