247 - Nominated by Jair Bolsonaro to the Supreme Federal Court, minister André Mendonça voted against the arrest of the former Minister of Justice and former Secretary of Public Security of the DF, Anderson Torres, and against the removal of the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha, after the terrorist acts that occurred in Brasília last Sunday (8).

In his vote, the minister also defended the need to investigate the responsibility of authorities "at any level or instance"—including federal authorities—for the security failures that allowed coup-plotting demonstrators to invade and vandalize the headquarters of the Three Branches of Government last Sunday, according to reports. The Globe.

However, André Mendonça's position does not alter the Supreme Court's decision, since both the arrest warrant for Torres and the removal of Ibaneis already have a majority in the virtual plenary session of the court.
