Temer government hinders international investigation against Serra.

A news article from the G1 portal shows how the Temer government is hindering an international investigation against José Serra (PSDB-SP) for irregular payments in election campaigns made through a Spanish company; according to the report, the processing of documents would go through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and one of the suspects was precisely José Serra, then Brazilian Foreign Minister, which stalled the investigations.

GGN Newspaper - G1 published a report this Saturday (23) informing that Rodrigo Janot complained that the Temer government has been hindering the creation of an international task force to investigate José Serra (PSDB).

According to the portal, on February 15th of this year, Janot met with Michel Temer and requested the initiation of international cooperation to investigate irregular payments to the politician's campaign in Spain. A week later, on February 22nd, Serra resigned from his position as Minister of Foreign Affairs. At the time, he cited "health problems."

According to the article, Janot told Temer that, in his position as minister, Serra would have the power to intervene in the investigation. "The episode, unknown until then, was recounted with indignation by Janot himself last month, during a working meeting with South American attorneys general in Brasília," says G1.

Janot stated that Spain had identified a company that transferred money to Brazilian political campaigns and received bribes when contracted in Brazil. The company's name was not revealed by the news portal. However, according to the report, the Spanish authorities had already identified the money trail and the bribe payments.
