As the press showed, this faction was planning a series of attacks. My name was on the list of those threatened. This was not the first time this has happened. When I was governor of the state of São Paulo, other investigations had already revealed threats of this type directed at me and my state secretaries. The reasons for this are very clear. Over the years, we have worked tirelessly, including in partnership with the governments of President Lula, to improve security in São Paulo," he said.
