Four aides linked to Congressman Valdemar Costa Neto and two coordinators from DNIT (National Department of Transport Infrastructure) are out; it was published in the Official Gazette of the Union.
The promised "clean-up" at the Ministry of Transport has affected six more people today. Four of them are advisors linked to Congressman Valdemar Costa Neto (PR-SP) and former minister Alfredo Nascimento. The other two are coordinators of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT), the focus of the corruption scandal. The dismissals were published in today's edition of the Official Gazette of the Union.
The following employees were dismissed from the ministry: José Osmar Monte Rocha, Estevam Pedrosa, Darcy Michiles, and Maria das Graças de Almeida. The dismissal of the first three was signed yesterday by Minister Gleisi Hoffmann (Chief of Staff) and published today in the Official Gazette.
Maria das Graças' departure was signed by the Minister of Transport, Paulo Sérgio Passos, who also endorsed the dismissal of DNIT employees Luiz Cláudio dos Santos Varejão, from the position of General Coordinator of Road Operations, and Mauro Sérgio Fatureto, General Administration Coordinator.
A report published today by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo shows the involvement of José Monte Rocha in a certificate that helped in the hiring of a shell company by DNIT for R$ 18,9 million. A protégé of Valdemar, Rocha presided until last year over the executive group created to handle the liabilities of the former National Department of Highways (DNER). Until yesterday, he was an advisor for administrative affairs in the department.
Darcy Michiles is affiliated with the PR party and was the Secretary for the Promotion of Transportation Actions at the Ministry of Transportation, and was linked to Alfredo Nascimento in Amazonas. Maria das Graças Almeida worked with him in the secretariat. Estevam Pedrosa was one of the former minister's main advisors in the ministry.
