Gilberto attacks Aécio again: "private track"
Minister Gilberto Carvalho, from the General Secretariat of the Presidency, once again criticized Senator Aécio Neves (PSDB-MG) for having built the Cláudio (MG) airfield when he was governor of Minas Gerais; "Since Brazilians are experienced and knowledgeable, I'm sure they won't fall for this nonsense, because the people know their past, and their present is one that boils down to building, in addition to private and suspicious airports, making this type of accusation," he said.

Gilberto also accused the opposition of engaging in what he called economic terrorism. In Brazil, we're fighting a World Cup every day, a daily harbinger of tragedies that, thankfully, don't materialize. The government's struggle is to confront sectors that, lacking real proposals—as in the past, because it was a very difficult past for the country, with unemployment and recession—they have to try to spread fear-mongering to gain popular support. Compared to the rest of the world, with its economic problems and brutal unemployment crisis, we are managing to survive."
