São Paulo – Federal deputy José Genoino (PT-SP), 67 years old, was transferred this Saturday to the Semi-Intensive Cardiology Unit of the Sírio-Libanês Hospital, in the capital of São Paulo. He is recovering from a surgical procedure to correct an aortic dissection, performed last Wednesday (24). The parliamentarian's health condition is stable and there is no forecast for discharge.

The procedure was performed as an emergency. On Wednesday, the congressman, who was in Ubatuba, on the north coast of São Paulo, felt severe chest pain and needed to be hospitalized early in the morning at the city's Santa Casa hospital. After being kept under observation and undergoing several tests, he was transferred by ambulance to São Paulo, where he was admitted to the Sírio-Libanês Hospital.
