Fernando Collor: "Director of weekly magazine cohabited with criminal"

Senator from Alagoas says CPI must respect judicial secrecy, but launches his first attack against the press; Paulo Teixeira cites 247 and says the inquiry has already been leaked.

247 - On the first day of the Cachoeira Parliamentary Inquiry Commission, Senator Fernando Collor has been one of the most active parliamentarians. In his speeches and interjections, he has fought to ensure that the Commission complies with the court order and protects the confidentiality of the investigation sent by the Supreme Federal Court to Congress. "Otherwise, we would be conspiring against the rule of law," said the senator.

Collor, however, was the first to criticize, albeit subtly, the press. "As a journalist, I have never seen the director of a weekly magazine cohabit for so long with a racketeer," he said. Although he did not mention names, the former president apparently referred to Policarpo Júnior, of Veja magazine.

Next, Congressman Paulo Teixeira (PT/SP) spoke about the impossibility of preserving secrecy. "The inquiry is already on two websites: Brasil 247 and Lei dos Homens," he said.
