247 - Allies of Minister Fábio Faria (Communications) believe that the fear of becoming the target of an investigation was one of the main factors that led him to back down from the offensive he had spearheaded alleging supposed fraud in the airing of Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) campaign ads on radio stations in the Northeast, reports... FSP.

According to the report, ministers of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) approached Faria and harshly criticized the allegations that had been made, which could be seen as false accusations of electoral fraud. The magistrates made it clear to Faria that the report with the thesis of the alleged boycott was a way to try to embarrass the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).

Allies of the minister in the judiciary warned him that he could be investigated if he failed to prove the accusations he had made.

Moraes pointed to the possible "commission of an electoral crime with the purpose of disrupting the second round of the election in its final week" and sent the case to be evaluated within the digital militias inquiry, which he himself oversees at the Supreme Court.
