247 State Representative Arthur do Val, known by the nickname "Mamãe Falei," has just announced his withdrawal from the race for governor of the State of São Paulo.

Affiliated with Podemos and a member of the extremist group known as MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre), Arthur do Val was former judge Sergio Moro's candidate for governor of São Paulo.

Arthur do Val is at the center of a scandal involving sexist and misogynistic audio recordings, in which he says that Ukrainian women "are easy because they are poor."

The congressman went to Eastern Europe under the pretext of helping Ukrainian refugees and reporting on the war. But an audio recording was leaked in which he says he would return to the country to have sex with women.

Below is a statement announcing her withdrawal from the race for governor of the state. Mamãe Falei must also respond to a complaint before the Ethics Committee of the Legislative Assembly, which could ultimately result in the revocation of her mandate.
