The Governor of Pernambuco has taken charge of the capital's election and has begun consultations with the parties in the Parliamentary Front, ultimately announcing whether his party will field its own candidate.

PE247 – Governor Eduardo Campos (PSB) has definitively abandoned his observer role in the Recife succession process to take the reins of the situation. Completely dissatisfied with the seemingly endless PT (Workers' Party) imbroglio, the main leader of the Popular Front of Pernambuco is defining an agenda parallel to that of his allied party, in which the construction of a socialist candidacy is increasingly closer to its objective: to reinstate unity within the governing camp.

Yesterday (12), during an administrative event at the Palácio do Campo das Princesas, Eduardo announced that he is looking for the parties of the Frente Popular to discuss a way out of the controversy created and fueled by the PT, which abandoned Mayor João da Costa, but has not yet managed, with Senator Humberto Costa as the party's candidate, to unify its ranks.

According to Campos, it's not just about leading an election, but above all, a governing process, making it clear that each party in the governing coalition needs to express an opinion in this unstable political scenario in the capital.

Even knowing the power of his name to unite the political forces throughout the state, Eduardo is refraining from making a decision alone. However, he clarifies that he cannot shirk his responsibility in leading this process, even though it is not his job.

The manager highlighted that many political leaders, both from the opposition and the government, have been insisting on the need for good political coordination to carry out administrative management that serves the interests of society.

Last week, Eduardo dismissed four secretaries he trusted (Danilo Cabral, Geraldo Júlio, Sileno Guedes, and Tadeu Alencar) so that they could serve as options for a possible PSB candidacy for Mayor of Recife.
