Edinho on Fachin: government trusts in the Senate's good sense.

"We are talking about a respected and recognized jurist. President Dilma made the nomination. Now, it is up to the Senate to hold the hearing and assess the minister's name. The government has confidence in the good sense of the Senate and has confidence in the curriculum of a jurist who is certainly one of the greatest jurists in our country," said the Minister of the Secretariat of Social Communication (Secom).

247 - The Minister of the Secretariat of Social Communication (Secom), Edinho Silva, said the government trusts "in the good sense of the Senate" so that the name of the jurist Luiz Edson Fachin will be approved to assume a vacancy as minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). Fachin will be questioned this Tuesday (11) by the senators.

"We are talking about a respected and recognized jurist. President Dilma made the nomination. Now, it is up to the Senate to hold the hearing and assess the minister's name. The government has confidence in the good sense of the Senate and has confidence in the curriculum of a jurist who is certainly one of the greatest jurists in our country," Edinho emphasized.

Edinho, who on Monday (11) participated in a coordination meeting with President Dilma Rousseff, avoided signaling the president's position on the regulation of the Domestic Workers' PEC. The expectation is that she will end up vetoing the creation of a fund that would be transferred to pay fines to domestic workers dismissed without just cause.

The minister also said that President Dilma is grateful to the Speaker of the House, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ), for the way he allegedly conducted the vote on the first measure of the fiscal adjustment, MP 665, which tightens the rules for granting unemployment insurance, last week.

"A very positive assessment was made of the start of the voting in the Chamber. Everyone expects the voting to continue this week. The evaluation was extremely positive," he said.
