Dilma: Brazil wants to become a first-rate economic partner of Cuba.

President Dilma Rousseff highlighted, this Monday (27), during the inauguration of the Port of Mariel, in Cuba, Brazil's desire to become a "first-rate" partner for the Caribbean country. According to Dilma, the initiative is the first container terminal port in the Caribbean, and has financing of US$ 802 million from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). The investment served to contract goods and services from 400 Brazilian companies.

“Brazil wants to become a first-rate economic partner for Cuba. We believe that stimulating this partnership will increase the bilateral flow of trade. There are great possibilities for joint industrial development, in the health sector, and in medicines and vaccines, where Cuba dominates cutting-edge technology. (…) I would like to take this opportunity to thank the government and people of Cuba for their enormous contribution to the Brazilian health system through the Mais Médicos program,” said Dilma.
