247 - President Dilma Rousseff (PT) plans to increase the maximum value of properties financed (currently at R$ 190) by the "Minha Casa, Minha Vida" program to reach the new middle class. The goal now is to facilitate homeownership for young couples, especially in metropolitan areas. The program, which offers discounts on the purchase of new homes through financing from Banco do Brasil and Caixa Econômica Federal, has already contracted 3,7 million housing units, of which 1,4 million have already been delivered.

The idea in this new phase of the program, one of the showcases of the Lula and Dilma governments, is to increase the income brackets of beneficiaries, currently between R$ 1,6 and R$ 5, which will increase the program's presence in large cities in the South and Southeast.

With this revamp of the "Minha Casa, Minha Vida" program, combined with the technical education program – Pronatec – and actions that have the support of almost the entire population, such as the "Mais Médicos" program, the president hopes to reverse the dissatisfaction with her government generated by the protests of June this year.
