"The prosecutor's decision shows that the PMDB was right."
According to Congressman Eduardo Cunha, one of the main leaders of the party's caucus, the accusations stem from friendly fire.
247 – Congressman Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ), considered one of the most powerful parliamentarians in the country, with influence over several state-owned companies, has just spoken to Brasil 247 about the decision of the Attorney General of the Republic, Roberto Gurgel, to shelve the complaint against the Minister of the Civil House, Antonio Palocci. “This shows that the PMDB was right and that the origin of the accusations was friendly fire from part of the PT.”
Cunha believes that Dilma now has the conditions to keep Palocci in his position, should that be her wish. When asked about the sharing of power and positions in state-owned companies after the crisis ended, Cunha was succinct: "What's lacking is political maneuvering in relation to the PMDB and the PT itself."
