247 - The choice of federal deputy Antônio Imbassahy (PSDB-BA) to be the new Secretary of Government for Michel Temer, replacing Gedel Vieira (PMDB-BA), who left the position under suspicion of influence peddling, has provoked a reaction from the leaders of the parties that make up the so-called "centrão," which brings together about 200 parliamentarians, according to reports. Folha's report.

The bloc says that the choice of Imbassahy is an interference by the Planalto to influence the elections for the leadership of the Chamber and threatens to paralyze the processing of the Social Security Reform proposal, presented by the Planalto at the beginning of the week and which should be voted on in the Chamber's Constitution and Justice Committee next Tuesday (13).

"We are going to defeat the admissibility," said Congressman Paulinho da Força (SD-SP) to the newspaper. Other leaders reportedly showed the same willingness. According to the "centrão" (center bloc), the Planalto (presidential palace) interfered in the dispute for the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies in favor of the current president, Rodrigo Maia (PMDB-RJ).

Imbassahy was expected to run for the position in February, and his appointment to the ministry paves the way for Maia's reelection. The bloc wants control of the House.
