Celso de Mello asks Aras for an opinion on the request for Bolsonaro's testimony to the Federal Police.
The testimony requested by the Federal Police concerns Bolsonaro's possible political interference in the institution.
247 - Supreme Court Justice Celso de Mello has requested an opinion from the Attorney General of the Republic, Augusto Aras, regarding the Federal Police's request to question Jair Bolsonaro as part of an investigation into possible interference in the institution.
According to Celso de Mello, Jair Bolsonaro cannot testify in writing, since he is a suspect in the case. "The rights to testify in writing and choose a date do not extend to either the suspect or the defendant, who, regardless of their functional position in the state's power hierarchy, must appear before the competent authority on the day, time, and place unilaterally designated by it."
