Bolsonaro wanted Ramagem in the Federal Police to "interact, make phone calls, and obtain intelligence reports."
Former minister Sergio Moro testified that Bolsonaro expressed a desire to appoint Ramagem as director-general because he was a "trustworthy" person.
247 - Former minister Sergio Moro said in testimony to the Federal Police last Saturday (2) that Bolsonaro wanted to have Alexandre Ramagem in command of the PF to "interact, call and obtain intelligence reports".
According to Moro, Bolsonaro frequently expressed the need to have a "trustworthy" person in charge of the Federal Police. Moro also denied that Bolsonaro did not receive intelligence reports from the Federal Police, as he stated in a pronouncement hours after the resignation of the then Minister of Justice.
"The President verbally reported to him at the Planalto Palace that he needed people he could trust, so that he could interact, make phone calls, and obtain intelligence reports; the President's statement that he did not receive information or intelligence reports from the Federal Police was not true; THAT the Declarant, regarding the work of the Federal Police, reported on the actions carried out, safeguarding the confidentiality of the investigations; THAT the Declarant, for example, did as past ministers did and communicated sensitive Federal Police operations after the operations with searches and arrests had been launched; THAT the Declarant did this numerous times and there are WhatsApp messages to that effect now available," says an excerpt from Moro's testimony to the Federal Police.
